My name is Joe Reinbolt and I have been an avid hiker and outdoor enthusiast for over 30 years. While Lake Tahoe is my home base, I have hiked the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Yosemite National Park extensively.
My Mission
I worked in Walt Disney World from 1999-2004 where the only mountains I saw were Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, and Thunder Mountain. While working as a pool bartender in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, I met and interacted with many amazing Make-A-Wish children. Their amazing strength and courage continue to inspire me every single day.
Mickey Mouse accompanies me on every hike to remind me of all the special Make-A-Wish Kids all around the world! Never take a single day for granted and never be petty. Live life to the fullest and share the love of nature!!
In the Fall of 2014, I was honored to serve as a hiking guide for a Make-A-Wish family. The experience profoundly affected me and my desire to promote the Make-A-Wish cause. So the idea of the 1000 Mile Challenge was born. Finally, I could combine all of my life's passions- hiking, nature photography, technology and promoting children's charities, into a single event- The National 1000 Mile Challenge .
I wish to send a Make-A-Wish family to Walt Disney World!!
